The two-week study program in Hawaii was fulfilling every single day. Almost all of the classes at the University of Hawaii were conducted in English, but I was grateful for the help of a translator who assisted with the more difficult parts. While learning about Hawaiian culture and life, I also had the opportunity to study environmental issues that are currently a major concern, often linking them to economic topics. Additionally, I took classes with students from other universities, which gave me a lot of positive inspiration and motivated me to push myself further.
The environmental issues in Hawaii that I studied during pre-departure lessons became much clearer after being there in person. Thanks to the kind support of the professors at the University of Hawaii and our chaperone, Professor Omura, I was able to successfully complete my presentation in Hawaii.
Outside of class, I had the chance to explore as well. I enjoyed delicious Hawaiian food and bought some cute souvenirs. Overall, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge and make wonderful memories throughout the program.
