ホープカレッジ交換教授Matthew DEJONGH先生が来日されました

明治学院大学の協定校であるアメリカのホープカレッジより、Matthew DEJONGH先生が交換教授として来日されました。

ご専門はコンピュータサイエンスで、秋学期に「経済英語2」「Current Issues2」の講義をご担当いただきます。

12月1日に、Matthew DEJONGH先生がピアノを使って研究されているテーマに関して、研究発表とリサイタルをしていただくことになりました。この機会に是非ご参加ください。

【題目】Karaoke in Reverse for Piano Concertos

During my sabbatical last year in Liverpool, I fulfilled a life dream of playing a piano concerto. Instead of hiring an orchestra to accompany me, I was able to teach my computer to play the accompaniment. It’s like Karaoke in reverse – the computer listens to my playing and matches the recording of the orchestra to my tempo. In this presentation I will describe the technologies that make this possible, and then perform the Andante movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s A major piano concerto (K. 414) accompanied by my computer.

Matthew DeJongh is Professor of Computer Science at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, USA. He is visiting Meiji Gakuin University September to December 2023.
